GIS Specialist

Description:

Requirements:

  • Expertise in the use of ArcGIS application software, specifically parcel editing.
  • Ability to work with geographic information system technology and its inter-relationship to property tax appraisal.
  • Understanding of legal descriptions in conveyance documents and assessor plats.
  • Knowledge of standardized engineering drafting techniques, trigonometry and descriptive/coordinate geometry.
  • Must have one to two years of experience interpreting recorded documents with metes and bounds descriptions and coordinate geometry.
  • One to two years of experience using the ArcGIS 10.X suite of tools is also required.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for performing complex research from various source documents, and then digitizing and compiling the database necessary to maintain plats and ownership records for property splits and new additions.
  • PREFERRED:
  • A bachelor degree in GIS. In certain circumstances GIS, or related field or a technical degree in drafting, surveying and/or geographic information systems with at least three years of related experience may be considered.
  • PHYSICAL and MENTAL ABILITIES:
  • The position requires the ability to concentrate on assigned tasks and the ability to manage time effectively in order to meet production and quality objectives.
  • Incumbent must be able to operate office equipment including computers (keyboard and touch) and calculators.
  • Incumbent must be able to communicate clearly on the telephone and face to face, including the ability to ask questions that will bring forth the information needed to make sound decisions.

Customer Service Representative

Description:

  • Come and join the Customer Service Division as a team member of one of the premier Appraisal Districts in Texas!
  • As a Customer Service Representative, you will have the opportunity to provide a high level of excellent service to the public. The ideal Customer Service Representative has excellent public relations skills, is adaptable, and has a positive attitude. The Customer Service Division is the first point of public contact allowing you to have a direct impact on the community!

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Software.
  • Incumbent must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time with ability to reach, bend and move up/down.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of files or equipment.
  • The ability to ask questions that will bring forth the information needed to assist the customer efficiently.
  • The ability to concentrate on assigned tasks and to manage time effectively.
  • The ability to communicate clearly on the telephone and face to face.
  • Applicant must be able to pass a standardized skill test administered by the District.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Handles inquiries from the public by phone or walk in.
  • Instructs the public on the use of the media center.
  • Resolves customer issues.
  • Prepares research in support of various DCAD divisions.
  • Continuously improves processes.
  • PREFERRED:
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Previous customer service, appraisal office, or other office experience.

Receptionist/PBX Operator/Media Center Rep

The ideal DCAD Receptionist has excellent public relations skills, is adaptable, and has a positive attitude. The front desk is the first point of public contact allowing you to have a direct impact on the community!

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Assists customers in using Media Center computers, GIS research, and use of the DCAD web site.
  • Monitors visitor activity in the lobby and coordinates with security and the Building Engineers.
  • Provides general clerical support.
  • PREFERRED:
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Previous appraisal office, or other office experience.
