Business Personal Property Appraiser

Description:

  • The Dallas Central Appraisal District is seeking the position of Business Personal Property Appraiser/Staff Appraiser.

Requirements:

  • Responsibilities include touring and appraising businesses for property tax purposes, as well as interacting with business property owners to resolve issues.
  • The candidate should have excellent analytical and customer service skills including strong personal computer skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • In certain circumstances the Bachelor's degree requirement may be waived for an individual with either a Registered Professional Appraiser designation and current active
  • registration with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or ten or more years of active appraisal experience within the last fifteen years from the date of the application.

Property Records Exemption Research Specialist

Description:

  • Are you organized and great with people? A self-motivated, quick learner, with previous office experience?
  • Come and join the Property Records and Exemption Department as a team member of one of the premier Appraisal Districts in Texas!
  • As a PRE Research Specialist you will have the opportunity to provide a high level of excellent service to the public.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills including word processing.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to pass a standardized skill test administered by the District.
  • PREFERRED:
  • Previous office experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of copiers, postage meters, and other office equipment.
  • Familiar with U.S. Mail, UPS, Express Mail Carriers and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Specific knowledge of related DCAD operations (or equivalent tax office operations) and procedures.
  • Bilingual (read and speak) skills.
  • If assigned to deliver and retrieve mail to and from the Post Office, must possess a valid Texas Driver's License and comply with the DCAD automobile insurance requirements.
  • PHYSICAL and MENTAL ABILITIES: Incumbent must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time with ability to reach, bend and move up/down. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of files or equipment. The position requires the ability to concentrate on assigned tasks and the ability to manage time effectively in order to meet production and quality objectives. Incumbent must be able to operate office equipment including computers (keyboard and touch) and calculators. Incumbent must be able to communicate clearly on the telephone and face to face, including the ability to ask questions that will bring forth the information needed to make sound decisions.

Commercial Appraiser

Description:

  • The Dallas Central Appraisal District is seeking the position of Commercial Appraiser

Requirements:

  • Candidates will perform all steps necessary to locate, identify and appraise property within an assigned geographic area.
  • College degree required; major in Real Estate or Finance preferred. In certain circumstances the college degree requirement may be waived for an individual with
  • either (1) an RPA and current active registration with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, or (2) ten or more years of active appraisal experience within the last fifteen years
  • of the date of application. Must have strong PC skills and be able to accurately read maps, plats and architectural plans.
  • Possession a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain a certificate of insurance naming DCAD as an interested party with liability limits of not less than $100,000- $300,000-$100,000.
  • Successfully complete a driving and criminal background investigation as prescribed by DCAD.
  • Be able to meet all state requirements for successful registration with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Residential Appraiser

Description:

  • The Dallas Central Appraisal District is seeking the position of Residential Appraiser/Staff Appraiser

Requirements:

  • Responsibilities include accurately measuring and appraising residential properties for property tax purposes as well as interacting with residential property owners to resolve issues
  • Candidate will be expected to visit construction sites and must be able to work outdoors in unfavorable weather conditions
  • Candidate should have excellent analytical and customer service skills including strong personal computer skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required. In certain circumstances the college degree requirement may be waived for an individual with
  • either an RPA and current active registration with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or ten or more years
  • of active appraisal experience within the last fifteen years of the date of application
